Why Grubbing Matters, Not Just Clearing

Cutting brush at the surface is only half the job. Roots and stumps left in the ground rot, settle, and leave voids that undermine a pad later, especially in expansive Blackland clay that already shifts with the seasons. Grubbing pulls that organic material out so the fill and subgrade sit on solid, uniform ground. It is the difference between a lot that clears fast and one that stays stable.

Our Process

We call 811 first so any buried utilities are marked, then clear standing trees and brush with a dozer and skid steer. Stumps and root balls get grubbed out below grade, and the spoil is either hauled off or run through a mulcher on site. We finish by stripping and stockpiling usable topsoil so it is ready when grading begins.
